Thunderstorm

The thick dark sky is quaking with light. It trembles, not bolts, like a dying bulb.

The ground is steaming with wet. Stage fog snakes the pavement.

The crickets surge in the treetops, damp and dark and reveling.

I roll the recycling to the curb.
